Finding "Your Person" Is A Real Thing

Finding "Your Person" Is A Real Thing
Megan Aaron

After a long night yesterday, some 1 AM talks, and falling asleep to rain, I woke up and walked into the kitchen to my best friend making breakfast saying, "wait! Go back to bed! I wanted to surprise you!" She and I both know we couldn't do life without each other and it's obvious when we spontaneously hug each other for 30 seconds or bear tackle hug each other when we haven't seen each other in over 2 hours. But I seriously hope everyone finds their person. Not some lovey-dovey soulmate who you marry and spend your lifetime with. But instead, that person you know you'll have as a friend in your life no matter what's thrown at you.

I hope you find that person who in the middle of a drive-thru at Wendy's will share their secrets with you. The person who without even looking at you can know exactly when something's wrong. The person who holds you accountable and the person who literally grabs your phone from you when you try to text someone you shouldn't be texting. I hope you find the person who with every other sentence is a burst of laughter. The person who will go on drives with you and just jam or sit in silence without a hint of awkwardness or uncomfortableness. The person who is brutally honest with you about EVERYTHING, from the outfit you're wearing or the picture you want to post. The person who prays for you, pray with you, sees your potential, walks alongside you as you grow , and is always there to catch you, hype you up, and throw dance parties with you to cheer you up when you're down. That's the person I hope you find.

Because I found one. I found the person who I can't imagine life without. The person who's pure existence makes me smile. She's my best friend. She's my person and I couldn't be more blessed with her friendship every day.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
