Power of Positivity

Two days into my sophomore year and I am already bored. Not surprising when I'm busy daydreaming instead of listening to the professor. The usual speech professors given to the incoming freshmen, and I quote;

"Now you're not in high school anymore, you are adults who must take your education seriously." Blah blah blah. "Your parents aren't here to hold your hand." I rolled my eyes. I never needed anybody's help when I have problems. I am the one responsible to take care of my family's problems, especially my mother. I vowed to never be her burden. I've been a man ever since my father died when I was young. And I promised to give my mom the life she deserves soon as I get my degree. Two more years to go.

Yay - I thought dryly.

As the professor continues, I take note of the freshmen whose excited to be here while some looked eager to run back home. P****y - why bother to come if you knew you couldn't handle being far away from home? I pray they grow a backbone along the way. Especially the females who are so naive to believe they can find their future husbands in here. Little did they know, my fellow upperclassmen and I are assessing them as fresh fruit ready to be plucked. Most of us eager to try fresh meat. Cliche I know. I must sound like any other guy, but I have needs and kinks to. However I would never touch a virgin, those are the ones to get attached easily. It doesn't matter if she is gorgeous or how much she wants to freely give her virtue on a sliver platter. It won't happen. Last thing I need is a relationship and worst of all, love to be in the equation of me getting satisfaction. Love will always be temporary for someone like me - a depressing thought I choose to ignore.

Suddenly the door burst open and a small girl comes through. She is really small from what I can tell but I can't really see her face as she has her head down with a big hoodie covering it. Although, her big little entrance has everyone's attention including the professor. Annoyed for being disrupted, the professor says, "Young lad,y I advise in the near future to be on time for class, It wouldn't be wise to show up late as I discuses class material." I chuckled a little how overdramatic the professor is being. The girl lifted up her hoodie and in a sweet voice.

"I'm sorry professor I got lost looking for the classroom, I'm sort of new." she smirks and I stare at her dumfounded. She is so cute. Everything about her screams small and delicate. But there is this sexy allure about her as her black curly hair tumbles around her shoulders, her light complexion glowing under the lights and her light brown eyes filled with playfulness. She has me hooked.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
