Honey Trap is a crime drama film based on the true story of Samantha Joseph. Layla, a young teenage girl from Trinidad moves to Brixton, South London to live with her mum after being abandoned from her as a child.
In this film Layla, lures her love struck friend to his death by her manipulative mental crazed boyfriend. In this film you will witness a mixture of abandonment, mental/physical abuse, paranoia, and crime.
Moving to a new town, Layla is naïve, lonely, and scared. But! She is aware that her beauty can take her places. She is swept off her feet by a wannabe rapper named Troy. Also, she’s touched in puppyish crush manner by Shaun. Shaun is infatuated and love struck by Layla. After being love struck, naïve, and weak Layla loses her virginity to Troy. Layla believes Troy loves her, but Troy never loved her at all; instead he only uses Layla as a sex object.
What is so funny though is the fact that Troy gets jealous that Layla flirts with Shaun or that she tries to move on from him. So he threatens her. Since Layla allows herself to become a sex object of Troy sexual needs; she as well uses her only friend Shaun to make her manipulative abusive boyfriend Troy jealous. Which, that leads to Shaun’s death.
This toxic love triangle film will piss you off and emotionally drain you.
