To my Hometown Girls,

Thank god for you! As Christmas break begins and we all start to make our way back home to each other I can not contain my excitement for our reunion. Here comes the sleepovers, everyone telling their first semester stories and secret santa that is never actually a secret.

But on the real, I've missed y'all. Being back together reminds me of memories we have made over the course of the years. The super cheesy and funny photoshoots we would have in each others back yards. The school dances we were so excited to get all dolled up for. The snow day sleepovers. Getting to exploring Europe together. The countless concerts, games, and shopping trips we have taken.

Y'all are my biggest supporters and my worst influences. But that is what friends are for right?

With all the good we have been through we have had bad to that we have still stuck out together. We have helped each other through heartbreak. We were each other's shoulder to cry on and are always prepared with the ice cream. We were each others family when our own were crumbling. we have had fights and fall out but always forgive in the end, something I'm thankful for.

Sometimes, I think about all the memories we have still yet to make. How exciting it will be to see us all get our dream jobs. Going to each others weddings in the years to come. Having families and living our best lives. How exciting is that? I wonder where we will all settle. Or if our kids will be friends.

I'll admit, going to college I was really scared to leave y'all. I knew i was never going to find friends like you girls. Then I realized I didn't have to, because I wasn't losing y'all.

Being away from each other is sad sometimes, but it makes the time we are home so much better. We lose track of time and talk until two in the morning. We laugh until our stomachs hurt. We eat way to much.

So here's to years more of sleepovers, friendsgivings, dip parties, college visits, wine nights, secret santas, road trips and laughs with my favorite girls.

I love you beaners!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
