Going home for the holidays is something most students look forward to after a hectic week filled with stress over exams. You've been schooled out, and winter break is just what you need. Who couldn't love a one month break away from homework and studying?
1. Handing In Your Last Final
Nothing feels better than turning in your last exam. The pressure's off, there will be no more studying for a month, and you're ready to go home. You hand in your last exam and all cares are gone. You can't help but let out a sigh of relief.
2. Leaving School
You might feel sad about leaving your friends behind, but let's face it: you're not. You're ready to leave. You've been ready to leave. You might miss them again tomorrow, but that's nothing a FaceTime call can't fix. You haven't seen home in a few months and family is your main priority (or maybe it's your dog).
3. Arriving At Home
You made it. You're home and ready to party. You're the center of attention: your mom can't stop hugging you and telling you how grown up you are, and your dad continues to make the same dad jokes he's been making your entire life. It doesn't change. Everyone wants to catch up, but the only thing on your mind is number 4:
4. Priorities
Bed. The only thing that's been on your mind since you finished your last final is going to sleep. How else are you supposed to de-stress? The comfort of your bed is calling your name.
5. Family
Okay, eventually, you have to leave your room. Your family is one of the reasons why you're at home in the first place. They all have their own quirks that you've secretly missed and it's time to catch them up on what you've been up to for the last semester: your crazy professor, your new best friends, the awesome parties, and the embarrassing photos. Family is important and you can't hide that.
6. You're Home
It's time to relax, sit back, binge watch all of the shows you've been planning on watching, and eat all of your favorite foods. Nothing screams home more than avoiding your responsibilities.
