Winter break is exciting and all. But then two days pass and you realize you have nothing to do. So if you are like me and have no social life, then you will turn to Netflix. But there are so many choices of movies! Which one should you choose? Here is a list of some holiday (and not so holiday) movies to watch on Netflix.

1. The Holiday

What?! Jack Black is in a romantic comedy? A holiday romantic comedy? with Kate Winslet! Can it get any better than that? Yes! Because of Jude Law? I'm swooning just thinking about him! Jude Law and Cameron Diaz? Their romantic moments are enough to melt your heart out! It is that cute and charming. . .

2. Love Actually

Anyone that is a fan of romantic movies already knows or has seen Love Actually. So why not re watch it again? I will admit: I have not seen Love Actually! However, with its ensemble cast that includes Hugh Grant, Colin Firth, Emma Thompson, and Keira Knightley, you can bet that it will be on the top of my list for whenever I am on a holiday romantic movie mood.

3. Last Holiday

Queen Latifah is charming as always while playing a woman who discovers that she has a terminal illness. Latifah's character, Georgia Byrd, goes on a luxury holiday trip to Europe and charms the many people she meets there. Talk about the ultimate bucket list!

4. Stardust

Okay, this is not a holiday film, but Stardust is charming as a fantasy/fairy-tale/love story. With it's charming performances from Charlie Cox, Claire Danes, Robert De Niro, and Michelle Pfeiffer as the main villain, I want to watch it again just by thinking about it! Additionally, it is fun for all ages! So, kids, adults, and teenagers can find aspects of Stardust that they will enjoy.

5. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

Okay, okay! Although Charlie and the Chocolate Factory does not count as a holiday film, it does take place during the winter time. . . Plus, a chocolate factory! How festive can you get with that?

6. 12 Dates of Christmas

Not my favorite, but if you find your holiday get-together is bordering on the awkwardly silent side, you can always play 12 Dates of Christmas in the background. Albeit, bordering as somewhat cheesy, 12 Dates of Christmas is good for whenever you and your friends want to have a laugh over a silly romantic holiday movie.

7. Christmas with the Kranks

Comedy! Who will deny that whenever Christmas with the Kranks comes up on TV during the holidays, that they just keep on flipping through the channels? Okay, maybe a lot of people. But Christmas with the Kranks will be a fun holiday movie to watch by yourself or with your family if you find yourself in the comedy holiday movie mood. Plus, Tim Allen and Jaime Lee Curtis? This just has laughter guaranteed written all over it!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
