First off, I have to offer a sincere apology for those who start celebrating the holidays after Thanksgiving. I have to confess that the minute that my Halloween costume is thrown to the ground and Halloween night has come to a close, I feel the overwhelming urge to sing some Christmas tunes and to watch a Hallmark Christmas movie. Mariah Carey’s “All I want for Christmas is you” becomes my most watched YouTube video during the holiday season. I am humming Christmas classics in the shower, at the gym, in my dorm, maybe even in class if I am feeling ambitious. I start spontaneously dancing and then remember that I am in public, looking left and right to inevitably catch the eye of the person who is watching in step beside me. I just get really excited really early. I know that those who start celebrating after Thanksgiving wonder how the rest of us can stay excited for so long and how we don’t get burnt out long before Christmas. Although I do not have a reasonable explanation for this phenomenon, I can present you with 10 reasons why it is perfectly acceptable to be excited about the Holiday season.
1. FOOD
2. HOLIDAY MOVIES
If you are not watching ELF, then you are doing something wrong.
3. DECORATIONS
Decorating the tree and the rest of your house is super fun until the Christmas tree falls on you and/or you are allergic to it. Both of which have happened in my house.
4. MUSIC
I think the most amazing Christmas present would be Michael Buble in front of my Christmas tree, wrapped in a ribbon and singing his Christmas album, but come on, what girl hasn't had this fantasy?
5. WINTER CLOTHES
So don't get me wrong, I love being bundled up in a large, puffy jacket, a custom knit infinity scarf, a beanie, and some classic bean boots to simultaneously be trendy and stylish. Nevertheless, getting my boots off at the end of a snowy afternoon building igloos is a quite a struggle, so when my mom yanks them off for me, I am most certainly relieved.
6. SNOW
If I always had this view, I would absolutely adore the snow. Unfortunately, with a large snowfall, there is the inevitable 5 am knock on my bedroom door accompanied by my mom telling me to go out and shovel. Snow plows are one of the finest inventions... ever.
7. FIREPLACES
Fireplaces + Hot Chocolate + Hallmark Movie = Happiness
8. SNUGGLING
9.WINTER BREAK

You hear that man? NO SCHOOL FOR A WHOLE MONTH! YASSSSSS!
