Imagine: You have a time machine that'll take you through history...and someone steals it from right under your nose. This person is named Flynn; he is planning to change history by going back in time to change major events. From here enters three heroes: Lucy, a phenomenal history professor, Wyatt, a soldier, and Rufus, a scientist who created both the original craft and the backup. The three are sent through time to find the missing time machine and the culprit responsible for the changed events in history. These valiant heroes must go through history without affecting the timeline themselves. Following a separate story line, Flynn is going after an elite group of people named Rittenhouse, the individuals he blames for the murder of his family. Colliding with the trio, they also find the mystery of Rittenhousein their own timeline. Nevertheless, their goal is to always stay one step ahead of Flynn who is trying to destroy the history of Rittenhouse in order to get his family back. The trio is on the move to make sure history is not drastically changed through Flynn's actions.
Here are a few of my favorite episodes from season one:
Episode 2: "The Assassination of Abraham Lincoln"
The mystery man who stole the time machine travels back to April 14th, 1865. The villain, known as Flynn, works with John Wilkes Booth to make sure that he assassinates Vice President Andrew Jackson, General Ulysses S. Grant, and Secretary of State William H. Seward. Flynn associates these figures with Rittenhouse. When Flynn gets flustered at Booth, the assassin refuses to go through with the murders with a modern firearm, which leaves Flynn with just one option.
Episode 5: "The Alamo"
When Flynn travels to March 2nd, 1836, the trio follows him only to meet James Bowie and Davy Crockett. Flynn has one goal: to convince Mexican President General Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna to invade the Alamo three days prior to the actual attack. This will prevent William B. Travis from finishing his historic "Victory or Death" letter. The army moves in with a red flag, which represents that there will be no prisoners. Flynn notices his goal is failing because, in the original historic event, the children and women were allowed to leave before the attack. However, the trio steps in to help the historic event with a little help from their new friends, James and Davy.
Episode 8: "Space Race"
It is July 20th,1969 and Flynn is about to try and stop the Apollo 11 mission. The trio meets mathematician, Katherine Johnson, who helps them into the mainframe system. Flynn's crew has downloaded a virus to have Houston lose communication with the Apollo 11, which could result in the United States losing the Cold War. Then, with help from Johnson, they are able to delete the virus and reconnect communication with the craft.
When thinking of history and how one moment could change it all. the question still exists is:
"If you could change history, would you?"
