It is a typical thing to grow apart from friends as you enter new stages in your life. Everyone always says "who you're friends with now will not always be who you're friends with later." Often times, this proves to be true. But what about the friends that really do stick around even after high school?
They are a special few, but they are out there. After graduation and the grad parties, we all part ways and embark on a new journey. People change, even when they don't really want to. We grow apart and gain new friends. It is all normal and to be expected.
But here is to the friends that we have known almost all of our lives who aren't going anywhere. They stick with us in the most troubling times (like home-sickness and finals week). While we grow and change they grow and change with us and accept the new sleep-deprived person that we grow to be.
It's these friends who we have known for a decade or more that help us the most. We can go for days or weeks without talking, but pick up right where we left off.
So here is to the friends from high school that has stuck by us through all of life's milestones, especially college.
