In my three years at Pierce College, I've noticed a huge difference in finals week compared to what I went through at a college preparatory high school. Those types of schools are supposed to "prepare" you for college classes, but they really don't (in my opinion). They just make it seem harder than it really is. College is a whole different experience than high school, as I'm sure all of you guys know by now. It's stressful, can be fun at times, but then there'smore stress. You see those funny memes online about waiting to cry until finals are over because then you can actually cry about it because we don't have the time to do so now.
In high school, when finals came around, it was the time when we all knew summer vacation was just around the corner. In college, what is a break? There are no breaks. High school was a breeze and college is like never-ending stress that's "going to be worth it in the end." Truly it is, but for the time being, we get to deal with all of this. At least we can laugh about it in the end.
Since we're all busy with studying for finals, I thought I'd show the difference between high school finals and college finals, and to reminisce in the "feels" of what it used to be, because I know I definitely miss how easy it was.
High School:
1. Hearing that finals are coming up
2. Studying for finals
3. Finishing a project due the week before finals
4. The day before finals
5. Day of finals
6. Finals are over and summer break is here!
College:
1. Hearing that finals are coming up
2. Finishing projects that are due on the day of your final
3. Studying while trying to keep your sanity
4. The day before finals
5. Day of finals
6. Finals are over and now you have a two-week break before you go back for another session
7. How you feel during that two-week long break
8. ...and back to school
Good luck, everyone! Finals week are super stressful, but we got this! Hope you all do really well on your finals! And if you only have a two week break before another session, cherish it! Remember: all this hard work will pay off in the end, just like all of our family has been telling us all the time since we were kids.
