Everyone knows how to Netflix and chill. It's one of the most BASIC phrases uttered on every college campus. If there was a word bank of most used college phrases, it would be in there multiple times. Personally, I'm more of an HGTV and Chill kind of girl. That's right. Home and Garden Television. Here are the top seven shows that will make your HGTV and Chill session the best it can be.
1. "Million Dollars Room Collection"
Prepare to weep for your bank account as you watch people who spend millions of dollars for gold showers, pirate ships in their backrooms, and ovens large enough to cook whole people in. At the same time, it makes you so grateful for the little things in life, and gives you a lot to aspire toward. The host, Carter, is also very nice to look at.
2. "Extreme Homes Collection"
Along the same line as the former, this collection will teach you everything you may never have, such as a house in the trees, a house made of eggs, a cave house, and again, a house with a pirate ship. However, I did pick up tons of ideas for my home that wouldn't be TOO Extreme.
3. "Fixer Upper"
You want relationship goals?? Chip and Joanna are relationship goals. Feed your inner DIY-diva, drool at their adorable relationship, and enjoy much more realistic budgets. I promise you'll say "AW" and "WOW" at least five times per episode.
4. "Property Brothers"
Drew and Jonathan are HGTV royalty, and they never disappoint. They are both adorable, funny, and killer at their jobs. You'll fall in love with DIY, start criticizing every latch-key home, and probably develop a crush on Jonathan. You've been warned.
5. "Flip or Flop"
Another DIY-fun fest, "Flip or Flop" is "Fixer Upper" with a lot more drama. Imagine renovations, but with your own-money on the line. Throw in squatters, vandalism, knob and tube wiring, and Tarek's man-sandals and you're in for a fun night.
6. "House Hunters Collection"
Whether you're daydreaming, on a budget, or with a million dollar eye, "House Hunters" will have something for you. This show is perfect for the average HGTV enthusiast who isn't obsessed with DIYing everything in sight. Keep an eye out for open spaces and key locations, and you'll be a house hunter soon enough.
7. "Beachfront Bargain Hunt Collection"
Shake it up with this collection, full of homes with ocean views and sand under your feet. It may leave you pining for the beach, especially if you're stuck in a chilly October climate, but it's a treat for your eyes, and your bank account.
All of these shows are available on Netflix Instant Streaming. Happy HGTVing.
