Boys. I don't think anyone quite knows what they are thinking.
Boys seem to forget that girls like to feel special and don't show or treat us like we do. It's rare now when you find a someone who treats you the way you should be treated. Dating is this horrible thing that young people do to find someone who they enjoy spending time with and possibly date.
I can't count how many first dates I've been on.
But, most of them was because a friend introduced us. Many of them failed or didn't go so well.. oh well. Nothing felt right to me and I kept looking and going on dates, that I really didn't want to go on. Many of the guys used their phones too much or was rude and took a call during dinner. They couldn't hold a conversation for more than five minutes. They talked about their ex on the first date (the biggest no never talk about that). I don't care about your failed relationship because I honestly don't know you. I'm not going to waste my time on someone who can't treat me right.
I recently met someone through a friend well who we shared a mutual friend. I soon realized he knew a couple of people that I went to high school with. He also knew my cousin. I don't usually mess with someone who knows my family because I don't want the nagging and the phone calls and the text messages from family members trying to know something. This kid seems to beat that rule.
I honestly thought that meeting him was going to be a one-time thing. I judged him at first before I knew him. He wasn't what I thought he was going to be and I'm glad. I was shocked after meeting him. I have only met one guy who would open a door for me and only one. So having him open his car door for me everytime I got in was like heartwarming to me. I literally loved that and was crying on the phone afterward telling my bestie. I did enjoy the night and the pizza was amazing and mouthwatering. It was a good night and the best way to end a year with faith restored in the male population.
He was amazing, sweet, nice, and kind. He made my winter break special and I'm happy we met. In less than a week of knowing him, I spent a lot of time with him and found out what an amazing person he is. I got to watch Star Wars for the first time, go ice skating in downtown, eat a lot of pizza, watched Jumanji, and spend New Year's Eve with him and meet his parents.
He might go to another college but I hope we stay at least friends. I can't wait to spend a couple of days with him soon. Hopefully, there will be more amazing late night adventures that leave me with breathtaking memories.
We have a lot of coincidences.
