Hey Everybody, Learn From Elizabeth Warren's Social Media Presence

If you're not sure what to post and how to go about doing it in a way that won't make your kids want to unfriend you, I'd recommend taking a look at Elizabeth Warren's Facebook and twitter pages. For all the tips and tricks you need on how to be successful on the internet as an old person (sorry), Senator Warren is the ideal example.

Parents and grandparents, don't spend your time on the internet posting unflattering pictures of your kids and commenting on their photos. A parent's Facebook page should be as simplistic as possible, don't overdo it. A funny comment here and there can make your kids laugh when they scroll through their feed but nothing more.

Warren is the queen of sassy political comments. Constantly going on well-written facebook rants and posting quick witted tweets, she's fighting for Americans both on the Senate floor as well as online.

Don't model your Facebook and twitter posts off of Donald Trump's endless hateful and dumb tweets or the Kanye West/Wiz Khalifa fiasco. Instead, take a look at some of the top Warren Facebook and twitter moments. (Take notes, mom, and dad.)

1. When She Sent A Lovely Storm of Tweets Attacking Ted Cruz

Last week, Ted Cruz sent out an email explaining how difficult it was to run for President, calling the experience, "a significant sacrifice." Cruz's email listed several of these "sacrifices" that included: no personal time, missing out of being with his family, constant attacks by other politicians and the media, and a lack of sleep and "health." Elizabeth Warren effectively put him in his place:

See, parents, here Warren is showing you how to be a smart Facebook user while also shutting someone down who isn't as good at the game. Each tweet she made simply refuted all of Cruz's four points that he made in his email and did so in a short and simple way.

2. When She Does Post about Her Family, It's Heartwarmingly Cute

Last week, Warren posted this adorable picture and caption to celebrate her husband's birthday. A week earlier, she shared that she took her grand daughter to the Boston Museum of Science!
Parents: if you're going to post about your family, do it in a way that fits your personality (and age,) don't attempt to seem younger than you are. Warren's posts are perfect because they're honest. She's not attempting to seem "hip" or "cool" like many politicians do on social media.

Once again, here's another example of how Ted Cruz doesn't use social media correctly. THIS IS WHAT YOU DON'T POST:

Pretty sure Caroline's first sentence was, "Dad, stop talking"

3. Last but not least, Elizabeth Warren loves to call Donald Trump a loser.

And these are just four of her tweets against Trump. Check out her incredible Twitter for many more jokes and well-thought-out takes on current politics.

Overall, if you're going to go on Facebook, be your funny, smart adult self and don't post a picture looking stupid in front of a cow made out of butter.

Your kids will never forgive you.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
