I know I know, you have 4 more months to choose where you will be spending hopefully the next four years of your life. How much more stressed could you be? Other than the homework and scholarship applications and senior year activites, I get it. In the midst of your stress and excitement, maybe even tears, here are four things that can easen your stress once you have decided where to spend your next chapter.
1. You're not the only one who is nervous.
All the incoming freshman are nervous, they have never gone to college before or been through an orientation week. You're all in the same boat, so why not make the most of it?
2. It's actually cool to go to class.
It's better to get good grades at the institution you are paying tons of money for than to waste the money by being the cool kid who skips class. Plus when you ace that test because you knew what the professor said, you're even cooler!
3. It's also OKAY to skip.
Okay, I know I just said not to, but I had a professor who gave us ratios of students... Those who skipped at least TWICE received higher test scores than those who did not miss. It's good to have balance.
4. You do not need everything on the "BRING THIS TO COLLEGE" lists you find on Pinterest.
Trust me. I bought everything on those lists... let's just say I could have a lot more room in my dorm room if I did not purchase random "totally useful" items, rubbing alcohol anyone? Not useful at all.
Go in with a good mindset, remember why you're there, whatever that might be. Pursue your dreams and do them well. Trust your gut when you choose where you will be going in a few months.
Best of luck, and refer back to this when you need encouragement the most!
