Here's To The Best Of Friends
We Heart It

Friends put up with some of the best, worst and weirdest moments of your life. Whether you've known them since preschool or your last year of college, friends can become a part of your everyday life. Some might be gone with the wind in a year or so, and others might live with you for a decade. Those friends who stick around for the crazy moments in your life, support you, make you better and love you unconditionally are the ones that make it all worthwhile.

Friends aren't just someone you can grab a drink with or go to parties with every Friday night or gossip in the break room with. Friends are people who are willing to bring you your favorite food after a hard break up or take you out at 2 a.m. to talk about life. One day they might surprise you with two movie tickets or two plane tickets. Another day they might plan a surprise party or take you out to your favorite restaurant. They show you random acts of kindness, both big and small because they know that by doing so, you'll be happy. They remember small details about you like how your favorite part of the pizza is the crust (or not) and often take them into consideration. You may have commented on how passionate you are about gardening and a week later they buy you a potted flower necklace.

These friends can be down the street or in another country. Friendship knows no boundaries and can overcome any obstacle. They can be older, younger or the same age as you. They can be short, tall, blond, brunette, shy, outspoken or all of the above. They will always listen and support you in times of need, and get you back on your feet when you've fallen. At times, they may be comforting you over the loss of someone you loved (a family member or your favorite character in a show), and at others, they'll be singing and dancing to your favorite songs. They might not straight out say it, but they'll love you for who you are.

Friends like these are undoubtedly the best of friends anyone could ask for. Of course, they'll be flawed like any other human being, but those flaws are outweighed by their amazing personality. They do so many things out of their goodness just to make your day better, and they don't enough credit for it. Here's to the friends that cancel their plans to do nothing with you. Here's to the friends that go out of their way to make your life a little easier. Here's to the friends that have listened to all your problems and complaints, and offer any help they can give. Here's to the best of friends.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
