Advice is a very tricky thing. It can be both positive or negative, good or bad, helpful or useless. But getting advice means that person cares for you enough to try and make your life easier. Everyone receives and gives advice often, but they are two very different things. Sometimes giving advice seems to be much easier than receiving it.

So, here are 11 pieces of advice you may hear that you should absolutely apply.

1. Do what feels right

Listen to your gut. Don't let outside distractions change what you think is right or what is best for you.

2. Always take time for yourself

Taking time for yourself is crucial to knowing who you really are. It gives your mind and body a time to restore and relax.

3. Life will never be fair

Once you have fully accepted this, it will truly change your view. Life will never, ever be fair and others will always have something you don't and there is nothing wrong with that.

4. Never assume the worst

Never, never, never! You never know what the future will hold, and going into something with a negative attitude will only make it worse. It could be the best thing that has happened to you.

5. Be patient

Patience is key to just about everything in life. Patience will set you apart from others in this world.

6. Trust your gut

If your gut is telling you this is a bad idea, it probably is. Intuition is almost always correct.

7. Love yourself before loving others

If you don't truly love yourself, it is impossible to fully give your love to someone else. Self-love is the key to success.

8. Never give up on what you want

Just because your dream seems far off, doesn't mean that they are impossible to reach. Work hard for what you want to achieve.

9. Pay attention

Always be aware, the more you pay attention in life the more you will learn.

10. Don't worry about what other people think

This is really the downfall of human society. Everyone is so focused on others opinions that they loose who they truly are. Be yourself because there is nobody out there just like you.

11. Always believe in yourself

What you see is what you get. When you truly believe in yourself confidence will show, and confidence will get you anywhere you want to be.

Advice can come in a variety of ways, but if you've ever heard these pieces of advice, take them.

No Sex And Upstate New York

A modern-day reincarnation of Carrie Bradshaw's classic column

Around the age of 12, when I was deciding whether or not to be gay, Satan appeared on my left shoulder. “Ramsssey,” he said with that telltale lisp. “Come over to our side. We have crazy partiessss.” He made a strong case, bouncing up and down on my shoulder with six-pack abs and form-fitting Calvin Kleins. An angel popped up on the other shoulder and was going to warn me about something, but Satan interrupted- “Shut up, you crusty-ass bitch!’ The angel was pretty crusty. She disappeared, and from that moment forward I was gay.

Senior Year Is Here And I Am So Not Ready For It

I was you not that long ago. I was once an eager freshman, a searching sophomore, and a know-it-all junior. Now? Now I am a risk taker. Not the type that gets you in trouble with your parents, but the type that changes your future. Senior year is exciting. A lot of awesome things come along with being the top-dog of the school, but you, right now, are building the foundation for the next 4 years that you will spend in high school. I know you've heard it all. "Get involved", "You'll regret not going to prom", "You're going to miss this". As redundant as these seem, they're true. Although I am just at the beginning of my senior year, I am realizing how many lasts I am encountering.

Why Driving Drives Me Crazy

the highways are home

With Halloween quickly approaching, I have been talking to coworkers about what scares us. There are always the obvious things like clowns, spiders, heights, etc. But me? There are a number things I don't like: trusting strangers, being yelled at, being in life or death situations, parallel parking. All of these are included when you get behind the wheel of a car.
