Lauren Elise was the daughter of an Oklahoma State Kappa Delta and a Kappa Alpha who was born with Congenital Heart Defects. After living a relatively normal 3 years, she passed away during her third and what was supposed to be her final surgery. The Lauren Elise Memorial Foundation raises money for awareness, research, and treatment of Congenital Heart Defects. You can help by registering for Hearts and Halloween 5k on eventbrite.com.
There will be candy, a costume contest, and free t-shirts while supplies last. "The event was such a success last year. We hope to double our attendance this year," said Emmie Humphrey, Kappa Delta philanthropy chair.
The event will be Nov. 2 at 9 a.m. at Boomer Lake on the east side. "We hope everyone will come out in their best costume to run for a great cause. We appreciate everyone's support for these OSU Greek alums."
