Here are some tips on how you can enjoy Thanksgiving by stuffing your faces, and being lazy!
1. Thanksgiving only comes once a year, and it is a time to celebrate. Enjoy yourself, and do not feel bad about how much food you eat. What you can do though is eat your food slowly and in smaller bites. This allows your stomach to "trick itself" into thinking you're eating more than you actually are. Therefore, you get fuller faster.
2. Do not starve yourself Thanksgiving day so that you can stuff your face at dinner. Eat breakfast. Eating a small meal in the morning will help you control your appetite.
3. If you're going to more than one dinner, make sure you eat small portions at both. This way, you will eat a little bit of everything at every dinner, and your hosts will be pleased.
4. Don't waste calories on foods you can eat year-round (except potatoes). Load up on turkey and stuffing because how often do you really get to eat that?
5. Drink water! Don't overdo it on the alcohol. That is a lot of calories, and you can always get turnt, but you can't always spend time with loved ones.
6. Don't completely just focus on your diet. Focus on family, and why you're grateful. Your diet is important, but there are definitely more important aspects of your life that you shouldn't lose sight of.
7. Volunteer to help clean up the table, put up the Christmas tree, or walk around and talk to people. Whatever it may be to get you up and moving is better than sitting on the couch digesting your food baby.
8. Try not to eat when you're full. Just because it's Thanksgiving doesn't mean you have to eat until you can't move anymore. You're going to get a stomach ache, and consume calories you don't need.
9. This is probably the hardest tip. Say goodbye to turkey skin. It is very high in fat, but if you can't hold back, try to limit yourself on dessert, or have none at all.
10. Don't skip out on your veggies. People forget about eating vegetables during holiday feasting, so don't leave them behind. They are tasty and nutritious.
11. When you're done eating, just leave the table. This way, you can't tempt yourself into eating more.
12. Try to limit yourself to one dessert per dinner or less. Don't go crazy on dessert.
13. Start a new tradition, and play football or a group activity. This will get everyone moving and burning calories while spending time together.
Travel safe and be grateful. Happy Thanksgiving!
