The Yoga-Inspired Social Good Challenge You Have To Try

Ready to embrace your inner yogi?

Think back to the days where people dumping ice cold water on their heads dominated your Twitter Timeline, Instagram Feed, and Facebook Timeline. The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge raised millions of dollars for ALS research, creating a very successful social media campaign that helped bring a hopeful outlook to a terrible disease.

Get ready for the next challenge.

Launched out of the University of Florida's campus, the "Headstand Against Cancer" Challenge seeks to support the Children’s Brain Trust and University of Florida Brain Tumor research program in hopes to end childhood brain cancer.

The challenge is to do a headstand to show support for children whose world have been turned upside down by brain cancer. You can either take the challenge, donate, or BOTH. I mean, who doesn't want to learn a cool yoga pose AND contribute to a great cause?

“This year 15,000 children will be diagnosed with cancer,” said the founder of Children's Brain Trust, Paul Hale. “Sadly, 16 percent will not survive childhood, and 83 percent will die sooner than their peers. By participating and encouraging your friends to take the #HeadstandAgainstCancer challenge, you will be helping to find a cure for this horrible disease.”

Children’s Brain Trust (CBT) is a non-profit organization founded by Paul Hale and families of children diagnosed with brain tumor diseases. Hale, a four time cancer survivor, experienced the devastating loss of his son to brain cancer and is determined to find a cures so that other families do not face this loss. CBT is raising funds to support research that will find a cure.

Alongside CBT, the University of Florida Brain Tumor Immunotherapy Program is working towards the same goal. UF BITP is a comprehensive clinical research program dedicated to the development of safe and effective immunotherapy treatments for pediatric and adult brain tumors.

The #HeadstandAgainstCancer Challenge will provide thousands of families with hope, encouragement, and support.

So perfect your headstand, snap a photo, and post post post. Don't forget to challenge at least three friends and include the link to donate: https://childrensbraintrust.org/.Here's an example of a post:

Now if you're struggling to balance perfectly on your head or point your toes, here's a link on how to do a headstand. For you yogis out there, how do you make it look so easy?

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
