Have you ever touched the ocean?
I haven't. I've only ever seen it when I was riding on a ferry boat in San Francisco this past summer. I was only there for a few hours so I didn't get a chance to do much.
I've always felt like I have to get out of New Mexico more since I don't get to do much of traveling. Being a broke college students will always have its disadvantages. Many of my friends speak of their experiences abroad and I cannot help but feel a bit jealous.
I can only imagine what its like to be in a plane for hours flying above the sea having a beautiful city/country waiting on the other end. I can also only imagine the fear of the plane having a malfunction and it falling onto the sea causing some folks to be stranded on an island. When I was little, I always felt like being stranded on an island would be something I would go through. Let's just hope that wasn't a premonition given to me thanks to my Mexican third-eye.
You cannot blame me if I feel a bit limited as to the things I can do given my location. You would feel the same if you'd spent almost half of your life in one city. Don't get me wrong though, I love Albuquerque and I love New Mexico but my curiosity can only grow since it knows there is more in the world to see.
I've only known desert land so I want to know what it is like to be in a tropical setting.
I want to feel the sand between my toes
I want to feel the wind blow through my hair
I want to feel the heat of the sun on my skin and regret not putting on enough sunscreen
I want to see the sun setting far into the horizon until disappears into the water.
I want to touch the ocean so that my hand print will be carried by the waves and thus travel more than I ever will in this lifetime. And that to me is beautiful.
