I Have Been Sucked Into 'The Bachelor' Franchise
hulu.com

I will start out by saying I love reality television. I know it is not real, but something about it really draws me in and keeps me wanting more. Two reality shows I had not dappled in were "The Bachelor" and "The Bachelorette." The concept never really appealed to me and, to be quite honest, I thought of the series as completely unreasonable and, well, not real!

One fateful day, though, I happened to be sitting on my couch with my housemate who was a religious "Bachelor" watcher. I thought I would try and sit through the episode and give it a chance. I still had my same opinions halfway through, until it came to the rose ceremony. Something about fierce competition really had me on the edge of my seat. I became attached to these women. "How could Ben pick Olivia over her?!" we would shout in unison.

Quickly it became a Monday night tradition in our house. "The Bachelor" would come on and we would be down for the count. Every week I became more and more fascinated with the franchise -- why would these men and women want to put themselves through the pain of this show, fall in love to inevitably be brokenhearted because, we must remember, the bachelor or bachelorette must only pick one mate. This part is hard to come to grips with -- trust me, I know.

I was a hardcore JoJo Fletcher fan from my time I started to watch the show until the very end, when Ben broke not only JoJo's heart, but mine. I think what can really suck someone into this show is that you can relate with these women. They are average, but exceptionally beautiful, women, who lead normal lives. We think that any one of them could easily be one of us. We follow along, find our favorite or one that we can most identify with, and then we must watch until the end. Sure, we could easily find out the winner via the Internet, but the suspense is what really gets us and what we want. It's the best part of our Monday nights.

After getting suckered into "The Bachelor," I was dying to know who "The Bachelorette" would be, just to see if any of my previous favorites would take on that role. There were articles circling around about Caila Quinn taking on the role as the next bachelorette, but to everyone's surprise, JoJo was crowned next to pass out the roses. This was a surprise to her as it was announced on the "After the Final Rose."

Here is where the franchise comes in winning again, because I was so heartbroken with JoJo, I now will be waiting for the next season because I have fallen victim to being sucked into "The Bachelor" franchise. Until then I will be anxiously awaiting to find out if JoJo finds her true love.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
