To be honest, I’ve never been someone who enjoys heat all day every day. I have always been that girl that likes nice weather, but to not be overly hot and sticky from sweat. So from that, I’m sure you can tell that I like autumn and spring. So here are some reasons why I hate summer, and always have.
The weather
It drives me insane. Like please, can you stop with the humidity? I like the heat, but I’d rather not be stuck to my plastic lounge chair and get a weird tan, or shall I say burn, thank you. Can you stay a normal temperature and not be so humid? A couple days isn’t bad, but other than that, just don’t continue. Also, what is up with all of these monstrous thunderstorms? My mermaid hair doesn’t like the aftermath of that. When the weather is actually nice, guess what? I’m stuck in my house. Alone. How wonderful!
My skin hates it
You know that girl that is always super pale, and manages to stay that pale all summer long? Yep, that’s me. There is no tan shade for my skin, unless I’m using Jergens fake glow. I have to have SPF 80+ in order to not be a lobster, and sometimes that doesn’t even work. Now I’m talking in general. My skin is just one way or another. I am either super pale or super oily from all of this humidity, or I’m super red and peeling all over the place. Stop. Just stop.
Not much to do
Even though school isn’t my favorite thing, I love to learn and have something to do at all times of the day. While I am trying to find a job for this summer, I am stuck inside, doing nothing. That’s pretty boring if you ask me. I guess I should have taken an online class, but I didn’t because I thought I was going to have so much to do this summer: multiple jobs, crazy plans with my family and friends (oh, I do; they just haven’t happened yet), volunteer a lot, etc. I thought wrong. Way wrong.
Friends/nowhere to go
Now that I’m home from college for the summer, I am missing a bunch of people I saw on a daily basis. I always had something to do with them, always. That’s a big bummer. Some live so far away from me, and I cannot go to see them and I wish I could every day, just like at school. But now that I am home I get to see all of my friends that I have been missing at school. The problem is that there is nothing for us to do. If you are from a small town like me, then you know what I am talking about. First my mermaid hair doesn’t like the rain, then I turned into a lobster, and I have nowhere to go and nothing to do.
Now that I have bagged a little bit on why I hate summer, I do want to specify the things I do like about summer. I do enjoy getting to see my friends and family anytime I want and being able to take trips with them. I like to go to amusement parks and NYC with my friends and family as well as throw our own picnics and summer pool parties and go all out with sleepovers, etc. I can’t wait for this summer to come, and go, and come again. Have a great one!
