Hasbro’s popular new game “Pie Face!” is a top seller on Amazon, and is currently sold out at ToysRUs.com. It is a constant struggle for many larger companies such as Target to keep up with enough inventory to meet the high demand. "Pie Face!" was one of the most popular games that sold over the holiday season. Hasbro disclosed that "Pie Face!" is one of their best-selling games ever.

The popularity of this game is in large part thanks to a viral video (seen below) that was released of a young son and his grandfather playing the game. The two can be seen hysterically laughing throughout the entirety of the video and admittedly, it is quite contagious. You may have seen this viral video, as well as others with people (or even dogs) playing this all new game.

 

The way “Pie Face!” works is with a random click counter launching system. Basically, you spin to get a number. Then you align your face in the cutout. Next, you crank the lever that number of times that you just spun. If you are lucky, the random pie launching system will not go off and you will remain neat and clean for your current turn, and you may pass the machine off to the next victim--I mean player. However, after a certain amount of clicks the user gets pied. The anticipation and hilarious surprise element of this game is what really makes "Pie Face!" a top seller.

Hasbro actually sold the game in the 1960s, but the CEO said it wasn't as big a hit back then. Explaining why it's a hit now, he said, "It is such a game that is made to be shared, made to be shared virally that it really fits with what consumers are looking for today." This game is a lot of fun for people of all ages (5 ages and up actually!). Hasbro’s comment is true, the viral videos are what gave me the idea on a night when we didn’t know what to do. Excitedly I messaged them, “Guys, we have to get 'Pie Face!'”

I picked up my copy yesterday at Wal-Mart with my friends. We tried to purchase the game at Target first and we quickly discovered that they had sold out a while ago. I gathered up my great friends, and my best friend’s mother even joined in on the game! A few rounds passed and I managed to avoid the pie for at least 20 minutes while my poor friends weren’t nearly as lucky. As predicted, hilarious videos were captured of the exact

moment when the pie hit! Social media makes the joy that this game brings extremely contagious! For only $19.99 you too can join in on the "Pie Face!" fun! Personally, I would say that it is worth every penny for the priceless laughs it brings.
