According to Professor Snape himself, the best potions are able to “bewitch the mind and ensnare the senses”. Although this statement may be a bit much, there is no reason why we cannot try to achieve this goal into making the perfect potion ourselves. For most of us muggles, the thought of making the perfect drink may seem almost as impossible as magic. However, with these recipes you’ll feel so empowered you can face a dementor. It’s time to get wizardly turnt ya’ll.
1. Butterbeer
There truly is no drink more delicious than Butterbeer, whether it is alcoholic or not. If you have ever been to Universal Studios, your first sip of this magical drink is probably one you’ve always remembered. Here is the most simple, and tasty, version I found with a little added kick.
1 oz Butterscotch Schnapps
1 oz Vanilla Vodka
1 oz Cream Soda
Whipped Cream for topping
2. Unicorn Blood
If you’ve ever seen Harry Potter, which obviously you have, countless times, you know that unicorn blood leads to a cursed life if you choose to use at a moment close to death. This drink recipe I found called “Unicorn Blood” does not lead to a cursed life though, only an awesome night.
1 oz Silver Tequila
1 oz St. Germain elderflower liqueur
1 oz Lemon Juice
Splash of Club Soda
3. The Hufflepuff
If you’re like me, and took that infamous quiz online a few years ago about what Hogwarts house you fit into, you realize that you are a forever a member of Hufflepuff. To celebrate my new home, I found a recipe only fit its members.
1 part banana liqueur
1 part vanilla vodka
1 part cream
4. The Gryffindor
Harry Potter himself would approve of this drink. In your burgundy and gold scarf, sip this tasty drink a few times and your game will improve on and off the Quiditch field.
1 part raspberry Liqueur
1 part cranberry juice
1 part orange juice
1 cherry for garnish
1 twist of peel for orange garnish
5. The Albus Dumbledore
On those nights where you’re feelin’ yourself, this is the drink to make in order to feel like the man himself, Professor Dumbledore. Save this drink for special occasions and impress your friends!
1 oz citrus vodka
½ oz triple sec
splash of sweet and sour mix
1 tablespoon of sugar (or splenda if you’re cheap on calories)
1 Cherry to garnish
Mint leaves to garnish
