It's Christmas time again and for Harry Potter fans memories of the great hall, visiting Hagrids hut and feasts with the Weasleys come to mind. Here are just some memories of the odyssey that remains with us to this day. NOTE: THERE ARE SPOILERS IN THIS, SO IF YOU HAVEN'T READ ALL OF THE BOOKS DO NOT CONTINUE TO READ!
1. The first Christmas at Hogwarts
Though it was slightly depressing, what with the mirror of Erised and all, it was still magical. From the enormous Christmas trees lining the hall to Ron being the best friend ever and attempting to pull Harry out of his mirror obsession, it was a HP Christmas we will always remember.
2. The Polyjuice Hairball
Non HP fans might read this and think we're completely bonkers. To quote another magical fandom, "All the best people are." But no we haven't lost our minds, I'm talking about the potions accident where Hermione mixed cat hair in her batch and turned into catwoman, (pun intended).
3. The Firebolt
Who can forget the top of the line, international model of the Firebolt? It was given to Harry by a godfather who, even though he wasn't perfect, (we won't mention the unforgivable last lines of gary old man in the order of the phoenix) we still loved him. And of course, the fight that ensued between our golden trio and Wood's infamous blasé attitude towards Harry's safety compared with having a Firebolt on the Gryffindor team.
4. The Yule Ball
I don't think Hogwarts had ever looked so magical as when the Yule Ball took place during the Tri Wizard Tournament. From the Great Hall being transformed into a winter wonderland to Hagrid and Madam Maxime dancing, it all created a memory of magic that was one of the bright lights in the movie. It was a celebration before the world turned darker.
5. Grimuald Place
Even though Voldemort was back and Mr. Weasley was attacked, holiday cheer was still in the air. Not even a war and Fudge and Umbridge managing to beat Mrs. Weasley at throwing a Christmas celebration for her family and the order could dampen the mood. (And let's be honest that moment between Ron and Hermione certainly was a good Christmas gift for the paring's fans.)
6. The Burrow
This one isn't quite as happy as the ones before. With death eaters attacking the burrow and Mrs. Bellatrix Lestrange making her appearance, it definitely was an awakening moment for fans and characters alike. Once again, Hermione was right. The fact that the death eaters could reach Harry anywhere hit home, highlighting once again how dark the once happy and innocent series had become.
7. The Graveyard
The finale of this magical series certainly is the darkest of them all. Harry and Hermione were on the run, and Ron had left them. The adventure for our favorite heroes had never looked so bleak. But this Harry Potter Christmas was different, due to our favorite wizard seeing his parent's graves for the first time. While we had known since the beginning that Harry was an orphan, this really hit home just how much his life was affected that Halloween night.
