The Hard Truth About Post Concert Depression
Lauren Brown

Today I thought I would take the time to talk to you all about a problem that hits far to close to home for me. A little thing called Post Concert Depression (PCD). PCD is that feeling you get when you are walking out of an amazing concert and think "holy sh*t I will never experience joy like that again."

According to Urban Dictionary the official definition would be "The feeling of depression after going to a really good concert. Usually involves depression over the fact that your lives purpose is now fufilled after seeing your favourite band. Also can involve depression over the fact that you might not see that band for a long time. The best remedy for post-concert depression is going to shows with local bands, as they tend to play more often and will keep you sustained."

It happens to the best of us. Honestly if you are a frequent concert goer or just see one every once and a while there is no way of avoiding this phenomenon. The excitement, the rush of adrenaline, the crowd scream all the words to every song, are things that will haunt you forever. The thing that is the worst about it is really the only way you can feel that sensation again is going to more concert, thus making yourself broke because well concert tickets are not cheep. So in the long run your brain, heart and wallet will all suffer from PCD. Time will help heal the wound but you will always be reminded of what you saw and experienced every time you listen to a song by [insert artist you saw in concert]. The pain and symptoms are different for all. Some experience much harsher pain than others, while some might experience less. Just like the healing process there are many stages in PCD. Most will experience denial, sadness, anger, restlessness. Along with the stages of PCD...

Symptoms of PCD may include:

- Laying in bed for days after a concert

- Rewatching videos from the concert over and over and over again

- Refusing to listen to any music but the artist you saw in concert

- Crying a lot

- Feeling like your life will never be as exciting as it was that day ever again

- Frequent posting to social media about said concert

- Watching countless youtube videos of the artist/band

- reading blogs about the artist/band

-stalking the tour website to see if they are coming back near you anytime soon

-telling every person you come in contact with how amazing the concert was

*Cue part in "commercial" where I tell you to see a doctor if symptoms become worse* however unfortunately this phenomena is nothing a doctor can cure. bad news is really the only cure to PCD is going to more concerts... Which of course just creates a never ending cycle of PCD. So if you or a loved one is suffering from PCD I would recommend buying more concert tickets and listening to lots and lots of music.

Rock on my friends, hope PCD isn't keeping ya down.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
