On May 28th, 2016, Heaven gained an angel. A story ended and a legend was born. Harambe, the 17-year-old gorilla at Cincinnati Zoo was killed by zoo staff due to a minor slip up regarding a child entering his enclosure. The story took to the news instantly and became an internet phenomenon. However, during the midst of this hot topic, has anyone stopped to think, what if Harambe didn’t really die? Of course, the Cincinnati Zoo will claim he has “passed,” but how can we really be sure? Is this all just an act to distract us from reality?

The number one reason why Harambe’s death is a conspiracy theory has to do with the 2016 Presidential Election. During the midst of this election with an orange egg head and a technology-challenged, pathological liar as our two potential candidates, this incident just so happened to "conveniently" occur. The Cincinnati Zoo knew that this God-like creature could have run the country better than any running candidate so they decided to stage Harambe's death so that people wouldn’t rank him before any other human candidates. Could this have been to distract us from the fatal hands America lies in? Think about it.

Not only could the government be behind the “death” of this beloved gorilla, but so could the parents of the child who wandered into the enclosure. Most parents of a four-year-old child are concerned with not just money, but also with starting a college fund. The parents of this child potentially had a great plan behind this. If they worked with the Cincinnati Zoo to “conveniently” drop their kid into the gorilla den, not only would it bring awareness to the kid and potentially earn him some type of scholarship, but it would also gain major publicity for the zoo. In all honesty, I had never heard of the Cincinnati Zoo until Harambe’s “death” and I’m sure that was their plan. Realistically, it was a publicity stunt created to draw attention and money to the unpopular attraction known as The Cincinnati Zoo.

This could also be a huge spin on world peace. Let's face it, world peace has been one of our planet’s biggest goals since the beginning of time. People don’t listen to things unless it’s a huge deal. Harambe was a heaven-sent angel who people took for granted while they watched him inside his enclosure. His death was forged in order to watch the reactions of the million people who took him for granted. No one realizes what they have until it is gone and maybe this was all one big learning experience for America. Harambe’s “death” has brought more people together than any other recent event and I believe that is exactly what the government had in mind.

The public should take some time to reflect on the possible reasons why Harambe’s death is a conspiracy theory. The broad spectrum of provided information covers a numerous amount of logical explanations as to why the government, the Cincinnati Zoo and the family of the child would all be behind a fake death of our beloved gorilla.

Today we are left with one question: is Harambe really dead?

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
