For anyone, it seems like the world today is just constantly full of bad news and distractions and stress. For college students, it is even more so, because there is the constant pressure of work and figuring out who and what you are going to be. There are standards to be met, and homework and assignments piling up. The world can become just a bit too much to handle sometimes. However, if we try to look at the little things we do have, it can make a world of a difference for our stress levels and our attitudes.

1. Being able to call your parents at the end of a long day and being able to say anything on your mind.

2. Having friends that really do care about your well being and check up on you.

3. Someone telling you that you changed their life for the better.

4. Having a productive day and getting time to yourself to relax.

5. Putting in a hard workout and feeling lighter on your feet by the end.

6. Drinking water and feeling like your body is thanking you for re-hydrating.

7. Taking the time to be creative and express yourself.

8. Being able to look your best and feel confident in the way you present yourself.

9. Getting to come home and hold and snuggle your pet.

10. The weight of heavy blankets on your bed during a cold night.

11. The opportunity to educate and better yourself and your awareness.

12. Meditating to relax and calm down the mind when life gets to be too much.

13. Turning to faith and religion for guidance in staying positive.

14. Laughing at a joke with friends and not being able to catch your breath.

15. Knowing that no matter what you will never be alone in the world.

I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
