I guarantee almost everyone has been affected by some type of suicide in their lifetime, whether it be a close friend, family member or someone that is an acquaintance to you. Everyone has been affected by it some way or another. When someone commits suicide there are so many emotions going through people’s heads: anger, sadness, frustration, confusion, and.
Anger, because your friend is gone and left you behind to pick up the pieces. Sadness, because the person you laughed with is now watching above you. Frustration, because you wish you could of helped your friend and truly did not see this coming. Confusion, because your friend always seemed so happy and did not think this would ever happen.
When suicide happens people have such a mix of emotions, and always know it is not your fault for not seeing this coming.
Did you know approximately 105 people die each day from suicide?
That is such an insane number. People do not realize the effect that their actions or words could have on another human being. You never know what that person is going through in life or what they are thinking inside their head.
Be kind and be humble, always.
Did you also know that people who commit suicide are not seeking out attention, but have a mental illness?
It is so frustrating when someone talks about suicide and says, “Gosh, that is such a selfish thing to do.” When someone is having those thoughts they are not thinking clearly.
All they are thinking about is how life would be better off without them here, and they just want this pain they are feeling to stop.
They are thinking that if they take their life everyone around them would be happier, because they are a burden on this Earth.
They are not selfish, but are mentally ill. All they truly want is help. No, they may not ask for it, but deep down they truly want it. They may not ask, because they are scared or ashamed, or maybe they think no one wants to help them.
What they do not realize is that there are dozens of people in this world that do care about them and want what is best for them, even when it does not seem like it. Sometimes it is hard to see, but I wish everyone could.
Sometimes life just simply is not fair; it is not always going to go the way you thought it should, but life is always worth it.
Everyone goes through obstacles and struggles through parts of their life, but everyone is able to conquer these hardships.
Just remember,
Everybody has bad days or even bad weeks, but it does not mean it is a bad life. Life is a wonderful gift we all get the chance to have, cherish it and know somebody loves you.
