Why is Halloween so anticipated for many?
Halloween is awesome! Not only is there great choices for costumes, there are lots and lots of candy involved. Halloween gives many a flashback of childhood costume contests and trick-or-treating around the whole block with friends and family.
How many people remember trying to race to the biggest houses thinking they would have the best candy? To me, the best houses were the ones who gave walnuts out, I mean not many kids were interested in them, but come on a few walnuts cost $4.99 now. Now as adults, it still means gathering with family and friends to enjoy the day, minus the trick-or-treating, unless you're taking a small child of course. It is great to see all the possible characters one can be.
You can be the person you look up to, or your worst nightmare. Although some people believe there are negative aspects to that holiday, I do believe that it depends on the way in which you celebrate that holiday. If there aren't any bad intentions when celebrating then there isn't a problem with kids celebrating. It has always been a fun dressing up and attending a party, during Halloween that's exactly what it is for adults. There can be a fun get together while still remembering the fun times we enjoyed as children.
Giving out candy and seeing kids' eyes light up is also a great experience. Kids are so excited for that day and it is a great experience to be able to be part of that as an adult as well. Because now it isn't about going door to door asking for candy, it's about spending time with loved ones, because we might be getting too old for trick-or-treating but it seems as if the older we get, the more we appreciate the free time we have with friends and family.
It might take a while to realize it but the things we miss about being young are being with the people we love and not being busy with responsibilities. A holiday is a great opportunity to just that, so choose a costume and celebrate!
