Here I am watching a Hallmark series about two high school lovers who drifted apart due to life, and are coming back together. Hallmark does things like that. They rarely have movies or television shows that end in heartbreak. The one I am wondering though is when did Jesse Tucker learn to sing? Chesapeake Shore’s star lead is Jesse Metcalfe who most know him as Jesse Tucker in Jesse Tucker must Die. One of my favorite movies, and one of my favorite actors. I’m realizing that life isn’t like any of these Hallmark series. It does teach me some valuable life lessons and makes my dreams come a little brighter.
Life isn’t always flowers and rainbows. Not everyone lives in big houses, with marble countertops and life on the beach. Most people work a nine to five job, live as a middle-class citizen and they count down the days till they can go to the beach if their work will let them off for the week. Life does have rainbows, but not the pot of the gold rainbows Hallmark creates every day.
Sometimes, life does not have happy endings. In every Hallmark movie or television show, you can bet a million dollars it will end happy or with a wedding. Real life has rainy days and thunder. Sometimes a hurricane will come in and make you want to call Hallmark, and say hey let me be in your movie. Not every scene is going to have a makeup, either. The thing about life though is you learn through those storms, and you laugh at the hurricanes because they were not as bad you thought.
The one thing I have always loved about Hallmark is the fact they make my dreams go into overdrive and make me more motivated then I was before. Dreaming for me is second nature, but when I watch Hallmark is becomes something that only takes 21 seconds instead of 21 days. I seem to want to have the jobs these people do, the car they drive, how they have house and other little nitpick things that make up Hallmark in general.
Life in a Hallmark movie or television show is a dream come true that not even Disney can make happen, though. We all work hard for what we want, dream big when we can and love more than we ever imagined possible. Hallmark is a good dream, but when your life becomes the dream, that’s the real good thing. Work hard to make Hallmark and Disney jealous that they couldn’t make your dream come true, because you did that all on your own.
Here’s to becoming your own Disney and Hallmark. May life give you all you hope to embarked on.
