5 Hairstyles For When You're Feeling Lazy

I love makeup and hair things, but somedays it is really not worth it to put all of your time into a little 'do. If you're like me and you're a fancy girl in a lazy girl's body, maybe these few hairstyles are something you can benefit from.

1. The infamous messy bun

The key to making your messy bun cute is to put the initial ponytail at a mid-high height. If you have longer hair, the way to make your bun appear the most voluminous is to twist on the last 1-2 inches, and simply wrap around the rest of your hair. Then of course, tuck that little bit underneath the band or grab a bobby pin to secure it. The little wispies and baby hairs are what make a messy bun cute, so don't worry about looking super put together. It's called a messy bun for a reason.

2. The half-ponytail

The super-high half ponytail is coming back into trend. If you're going for the full look but only being half lazy, sleep in the messy bun the night before you do the half pony so you achieve those nice waves to give your hair extra volume. When you put your hair up, gather it all with a hairbrush before securing it with a band, and use either a small band or a regular band to secure it, but make sure you wrap the band a few times around to make it extra secure.

3. The full-ponytail

While simple, this look can be given an extra ounce of sophistication if, after tying your hair with a band, you take a small piece of hair from underneath the pony and wrap it around the band. It's a super cute look, and it you do it right, it look pretty magical. Like, where did the band go and how is your hair so secure?

4. All down with a few heating tool tricks

My favorite lazy trick is to put my hair in a silly ponytail right on top of my head, and then quickly curl whichever ends made it up there. when you take the ponytail out, you get that flawless curled-end look that looks like you took hours on your hair, but you actually spent about three minutes. It's pretty freaking great.

5. Simple, quick braid

The fastest way to braid your hair is to only braid some of it. This is super simple to do if you sweep all of your hair to the side and twist the parts that may fall out in the back. Secure your twist with a bobby pin and quickly braid whatever's on the side. If your strands are uneven, this braid still looks pretty cool, and the entire look is completely effortless.

Hair and makeup is pretty fun to do, but always remember that you look great au natural and with makeup and hair done. These two things are truly an art, but by no means a necessity or a measure of beauty. You're already incredible just being yourself, so keep on doing you!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
