Tips And Tricks For Those With Damaged

HAIR REPAIR
wordpress

When going through life, we find ourselves seeking change. Sometimes it is subtle, other times, rather drastic. I have been known as a chameleon of sorts due to the fact that my hair color never stays the same color for very long. Luckily, my hairdresser is VERY patient with me. Sometimes, after many hair transitions, your hair will become dead, and dry. One way to help with dry hair is to use hair masks. The concept is very similar to a facemask, but with your hair. Some ingredients can be found within your household.

Possible ingredients are:

Extra Virgin Olive Oil—(EVOO) EVOO is a natural conditioner. Using this will moisturize, soften, and shine the hair. I also helps prevent fry scalp, hair breakage, split ends, and help tame flyaways.

Honey—Honey retains moisture, prevents fallout, smoothes and softens the hair.

Coconut Milk—Coconut milk is a natural hair repair. Not only does it moisturize, but is a natural hair detangler and conditioner as well. It is also known to help lengthen and thicken hair.

Coconut Oil—In my personal opinion, Coconut Oil is the holy grail of the beauty world. I use it as a shaving cream, hand crème, a moisturizer for dry knees and elbows, lip balm, makeup remover, bath oil, a flyaway hair tamer, and so much more. I most likely will write an article on coconut oil alone, because it is a cheap alternative to so many things, so stay tuned for that. As for now, coconut oil is a great conditioner, and also prevents breakage and adds shine.

Lemon—Lemon is good for an oily scalp. It absorbs access oil and grease, and helps to clean hair.

Apple Cider Vinegar(ACV)—ACV helps flaky and itchy scalps so if you struggle with dandruff this is the ingredient for you. It cleanses the hair without stripping it of its natural oils.

Egg—This is a super ingredient. Although it was hard to get the idea of scrambling an egg for my hair, it was definitely worth it. Eggs are super rich in protein. With protein comes stronger hair, and less breakage. Eggs also add a shine and act as a conditioner.

All of these ingredients are good on their own but you can also use them together. How much of each ingredient is based on how long and thick your hair is. Some ingredients that I didn’t list above are Argon Oil, Moroccan Oil, and Castor Oil, which are also very good for the hair. Hair masks are to be applied on damp hair. I suggest getting a spray bottle. I spray my hair until its damp right before I know I am going to take a shower. Hair masks are applied once a week, and to be kept on anywhere from 15-30 minutes, or wrapped on head and kept on over night. After you are done with the hair mask, shower and wash it out. If you have an oily scalp, and get greasy hair fast, I suggest applying anything with oil below the tops of your ears to the roots because I find my hair gets less greasy that way, and the ends are often the most damaged anyway.

Some Recipes for Hair Masks Are:

1) 1 egg, coconut oil, and honey— This mask is good for damaged hair.

2) 1 mashed banana, 2 tablespoons of plain yogurt, and a tablespoon of honey—This mask helps tame frizzy hair.

3) ¼ cup of ACV, 1 juiced lemon, 1 Tablespoon of honey- This mask is good for oily hair so all my dreamers with dandruff, this is the mask for you!!! Also this would be one to apply all the way from your ends to your scalp!

4) 6-8 mashed strawberries, with a tablespoon of coconut oil, and a tablespoon of honey helps eliminate oil and grease while adding shine to the hair.

Hair Masks are super user friendly and its fun to mix and match ingredients to make it your own and find what works best for you.

With that, Turn Your Cants Into Cans And Your Dreams Into Plans!

Stay Gorgeous xoxo

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
