My roommate has been my best friend for the past year. We have laughed together, cried together, yelled together, complained together, and shared a tiny space with no room together since our freshman year. I've come to know her better than I know practically anyone else.
She's this amazingly strong person, who knows exactly where she wants to go in life. She works hard every day to excel in school. She's great. And I don't know anyone else who fights for people as hard as she does. I don't know anyone who should be loved and cared for like she deserves.
I'm very protective of her because I think that anyone who hurts her is heartless.
So, this is to the guy who broke her heart:
You're an idiot.
You lost someone who would've done anything for you. She cares, still, so much about you and yet you treated her like she was nothing. You've ignored her, you've given her the silent treatment, you've used her for food. And I'm sorry, but there was no reason.
You're rude.
Who ignores someone's texts asking for their stuff back? Who doesn't say thank you when someone else buys your food multiple times? Who doesn't appreciate someone who thinks that you're an amazing person?
Why would you be the perfect boyfriend for two months and then suddenly stop? What could possibly make you, in the course of 24 hours, stop replying to texts? What makes you stop wanting to talk and hang out? What happened?
She has cried far too many times over things you've said and done. I've had to tell her how much she's worth because of you and others like you treating her like she's worth nothing. You've taken this amazing person and broken her down to tears and self-doubt and sadness because it suited you.
I hope that she finds someone a million times better than you, and I hope that she's finally happy. I hope that she's treated like the fantastic woman that she is and learns to love herself as much as I love her. Because that's what she deserves.
