College can be a stressful, scary, and terrific experience! There will always be good and bad times during your college experience, but there are somethings that you can do to ensure that you will have a successful experience. The goal of going to college is to get a higher degree of education, but when you start to become overwhelmed with work, classes, and your social life; life can get pretty demanding and you can lose track of the reason you even wanted to go to college. Fortunately, there are some things that can be done in order to avoid this.

1. Manage Your Time

The best way to get overwhelmed in college is to misuse your free time. The best way to make sure that you have time to get all of your assignments and studying done is to come up with a routine of when you will set aside time to do so and actually follow through with it. This will make doing your assignments part of your daily routine and soon enough it will become a habit for you.

2. Organization, Organization, Organization

The easiest way to start doing bad in your classes is to be disorganized. Although it may seem like common knowledge, there are many students that have a hard time keeping track of all of their responsibilities. The best way to organize everything that you have to have somewhere where you are able to coordinate it all. A planner seems to be the most common way to do this, but there are also many other alternatives.

3. Prioritize

Along with organization comes prioritizing. You can be the most organized person in the world, but if you don’t have your priorities in the correct order your organization skills will not save you from getting overwhelmed with school. Be sure to have your priorities straight for your own benefit. Even though some of your responsibilities may not be as fun as going out with your friends every night, it is important to remember that what you try to procrastinate doing will eventually have to be done.

4. Me Time

Be sure to take time for yourself. No matter how busy you get with work, finals, and that next paper that you have to write, it is important that you take time to focus on what you want to do. If you don’t, it could lead to you becoming very stressed out. Stress is something that is very common for college students to have a problem with. Taking an hour of your day to devote to yourself could eliminate this problem.

5. Socialize

Of course, being a college student does not mean that you are not allowed to have any fun. It is important to go out with friends and meet people that also go to school on your campus. There will be times during the semester where having a good friend to talk to or a group of friends to hang out with will really help you unwind from all the studying that you will have to do.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
