Summer school sucks, there's no denying that fact. The beauty of the quarter system is the classes only last five weeks and anyone can power through anything for five weeks.
1. Check the attendance policy
This should be the first thing you do in any of your classes regardless of what quarter you take them, because some days you just "can't even" with life and need to take a mental health day. I usually need one about once every 2 weeks....So, needless to say it's crucial to plan accordingly, so you don't get royally screwed by policies and participation points (or lack thereof) at the end of the quarter. It's even easier to skip with all the temptation of days filled with tanning by the pool, homemade margarita in hand instead of sitting in a classroom deriving equations, but until your career as a lifestyle blogger takes off, you should probably stay in school.
2. Bring the proper supplies i.e. coffee, coffee, and more coffee.
After a long day at work, the last thing anyone wants to do is go to class, but as per the point above, ya gotta do what ya gotta do. Proper caffeination is key to make it through these next five weeks alive and no matter how good it sounds, don't put your head down on that desk.
3. Make the right friends fast.
Get to know the people in your class because you're all in this together. The nicer you are to your fellow peers now the more likely they are to help you with your homework later on and everyone wins.
4. More books, less booze.
Going out 4-5 nights a week during the school year is a thing of the past this summer because there's no f*cking way anyone can balance work and summer classes with a crippling hangover, which you're more likely to get operating on a grown-up's schedule. Last night's makeup isn't going to cut it in your cubicle.
