As human beings, there are a lot of events and obstacles in our lives, but I would say that the longest and hardest struggle is growing up; especially in a small town. When they say there are growing pains, they aren't kidding. I remember the first day of stepping off the bus to high school, and I also remember the last day of the senior year when I would drive there as a student for the last time. It was such a bittersweet moment. I had accomplished something so amazing, but everything was also about to change. All of my friends would be leaving for college and our lives would never be the same. The next fall I would be attending RCC. No, it's not some big renowned university but, it's a start. I didn't realize how different it would be but when it hit me, boy did it flip my whole world upside down. College made me realize two things; similar to being a freshman in high school again I didn't know who I was and that I was starting a huge journey into the next chapter of my life. I started to feel different and not like myself, but thankfully I was soon blessed with a new group of friends who would make my life enjoyable again. Every day is an adventure with them and they make me realize how important I am. They became my rock and keep me grounded, I have a special connection which each of them. They make the harder parts of my life easier and I know I could come to them with any of my problems. I learned that at the end of the day college is a huge transition, no matter how hard things get, as long as you have good friends things will always be alright.
