Dear group chat,
You all know by now that each one of you in the group chat means the world to me, but you probably don't know how much the group chat in general means to me while I'm away at school.
There isn't a day that goes by where someone doesn't send a funny meme that distracts me from all the stress I am dealing with while I am at school or strike up the most perverted and controversial topics that have everyone in the chat involved. It's seriously the littlest things that put a smile on my face from you guys.
We say the most outrageous things sometimes and I always think to myself that I hope no one is hovering over me looking at my text messages because they just wouldn't understand our sense of humor (you guys have to admit, it's pretty dark and maybe a tad too sexually from time to time). I think what really makes me happy is that we stay connected even though I can't physically be there with all of you.
I know if it weren't for me some of you guys wouldn't be friends and I like to give myself just a little bit of credit for bringing everyone together. I do get a little jealous when you all hang out and leave me by my lonesome self up at school, but I'm glad that I was able to bring some people together to create new friendships. Our group just keeps on growing and it's funny because I like to think I dislike most people, but all of you guys are cool in my book.
Sometimes the group chat gets serious, but I don't think that's a bad thing necessarily. I enjoy that I can just open up our messages together and start venting about the shitty day I just had or start complaining about the loud and annoying girls in one of my lecture classes. You guys always listen and take my side no matter what situation is bothering me that day and it makes me feel 100 times better.
But, that doesn't mean we don't roast each other either.
I think that's the best thing about our group chat, we "attack" each other personally, but we all know that it's just fun and games to us. Even if we do mean what we're saying, at the end of the day we all have so much love for one another and that's all that matters.
Oh, and for the few individuals that don't have iMessage? It's okay, we don't hate you for making our chat have green messages. Nothing but love for you all!
So to my group chat with all my friends back home, I thank you again. Thank you for taking my mind off of the sadness I am feeling being away from all of my loved ones. Thank you for also never ignoring what I say in the chat. Finally, thank you for being amazing friends and I don't know where I would be without you all by my side, even if there's some physical distance between us.
