Well, Grey's Anatomy fans, it's been a long road. Throughout the past 11 seasons and 4 episodes we've watched Meredith and the other doctors at Grey Sloan Memorial handle as much adversity, pain, and hardship as Shonda Rimes could dream up. We've grown to love all the brilliant, witty, not to mention sexy doctors who fill up those ORs. As we know, in the past 250 episodes, the doctors have "co-mingled" in more combinations than most of us ever thought possible. While everyone has an opinion on who the best power couples of the hospital are, here's my list that leads to the ultimate Grey's Anatomy couple.
30. George and Meredith
Everyone knew this was a bad idea except George. We all like to root for the underdog, but, in this scenario, no one hoped George's Meredith dream would actually come true.
29. Miranda and Tuck
Bailey and her first husband had a good marriage for a long time and they had a beautiful baby boy, but when the going got tough Tuck wasn't there to support her.
28. Izzy and George
Such a great friendship, yet such a terrible relationship. Izzy and George not only got together based on a drunken night, they also broke up George and Callie's marriage.
27. Derek and Rose
No matter how sweet Rose may have been, she's not Meredith. End of story.
26. Arizona and Leah
Poor Leah, she just doesn't know how to have a normal or healthy relationship, and when she felt harassed after their breakup she didn't get any support. However, this was the closest Leah got to a normal relationship.
25. Miranda and Eli
We all wanted Bailey to be happy, but not so much with Eli. He made her laugh and made her happy, but he wasn't her true match. Also, he had a grating personality when he was interacting with anyone else.
24. Callie and Alex
Was it only that one time after they fixed their weird miracle case? Yup, but they are just too great individually to not like the idea of them together.
23. Addison and Derek
The original Dr. Shepards. Goodness they are such a handsome couple. It's too bad their marriage couldn't last. If we didn't love Der and Mer so much we would have wanted them to work it out. Unfortunately, they were never meant to be despite their fabulous hair.
22. Christina and Shane
Don't get me wrong, I never really wanted Christina with Shane. It's Christina and Owen all the way, but Shane was so cute and he had so much eager energy. She was his idol and in the end he followed her when she left.
21. Meredith and Finn
Finn was so good to her and they would have been a great couple, but it was always Mer and Der. Always.
20. Christina and Preston
Christina and Burke complemented each other so well. He brought out a completely different side of her that none of us had seen so far. She was there for him every step of the way, but he wanted more than she could give.
19. Alex and Izzy
Everyone wanted these two to work out more than anything. Alex deserved a relationship with a normal girl and Izzy deserved a happily ever after, but thanks to cancer their whole relationship went up in flames.
18. Callie and Penny
Penny killed Derek. It's unavoidable and it sucks, but Callie can't help her feelings. Penny is the first woman since Arizona for whom Callie has had real feelings. Their future is uncertain, but c'mon they look so cute together.
17. Richard and Catherine
A happy Richard is a happy hospital and Catherine Avery somehow makes him happy. They both have such strong personalities so their relationship is always dealing in the extremes, but if Richard is happy we are happy.
16. George and Callie
When it was good it was oh so good. When Callie was with George she could be free and exactly herself. She could dance around in her underwear! They had problems, but in the end we were all sad to see their marriage dissolve.
15. Richard and Adele
I know what you're going to say. "He cheated on her twice! How could you think they are a good couple?" Well friends, they worked through it all. Richard cheated, but he always stayed with her. She made sacrifices for him. He for her. The end was tough, but their love was true.
14. Addison and Mark
Look at them. They were so sexy and they had so much heat. Too bad it couldn't last. They would have made some gorgeous children together. Alas, Mark was meant for Lexi and Addison was meant for Jake (Private Practice).
13. Alex and Jo
They are so in love and happy together. Jo has a past to match Alex's. She may be a bit too whiny for our lovable DevilSpawn but she hasn't experienced the tragedy the rest of the hospital has. Give it some time and they'll be an even better couple than they are now.
12. Callie and Arizona
11. Maggie and Andrew
Maggie and her intern are heating up Season 12. Andrew is helping Maggie lighten up a little and we get to see the fun side of our new head of cardio. One more attending falling for an intern. Those are the best relationships.
10. Lexi and Jackson
Lexi and Jackson were a breath of fresh air. Their time together was all heat and passion. Unfortunately, Lexi could never move on from Mark and Jackson always had April way far back in his mind.
9. Owen and Amelia
Owen and Amelia are a newer pairing. We aren't even sure if they are a couple yet. These two have major potential and major baggage. Owen had Christina and Amelia had James. Owen had the military and Amelia had her baby. With the other, they just might be able to put their pieces back together.
8. Callie and Mark
So much sass in one relationship. They were on and off again, but every time they were on we all were on board. Mark made Callie feel beautiful in every way. Callie taught Mark how to be the best Mark he could be. Together they made each other better, and isn't that what a good relationship does?
7. Christina and Owen
If Christina could have made it work with anyone it would have been Owen. They had different plans for the future and that is what caused their relationship to falter. From the first time they locked gazes Christina and Owen have had nothing but heat between them. They went through so many trials in their relationship, but their love was messy and real and true. They are the embodiment of the rest of us.
6. Jackson and April
Jackson and April have never had it easy. From their boards, April's engagement, public disapproval after they ran away from her and Matthew's wedding, their poor baby, and their different ways of grieving, these two have gone through too much to let it end. Their chemistry is electric and when Jackson walked out of that bus towards April we all melted a little.
5. Teddy and Henry
If you didn't love Teddy and Henry you should just get out of the hospital. Henry was the answer to Teddy's unasked question. His death was traumatic. When he lost her she lost a part of herself. If that's not true love, I don't know what is.
4. Jackson and Stephanie
Stephanie complimented Jackson in a way no other woman he has been with has. Sorry April. When he left her at the wedding a piece of our hearts were sad even though Jackson and April were so happy together. Stephanie shined when she was with him, and she brought out the best in him.
3. Miranda and Warren
Warren is the perfect man for strong-willed Bailey. He stands by her through everything, even when she handles her first day as chief incorrectly. His proposal idea was so cute and he waited when she asked him to wait for her. Warren turned her into BCB and then reminded her to be as strong as sassy as the Bailey we fell in love with in season 1.
2. Meredith and Derek
It's Mer and Der. Need I say more? Together they are extraordinary, anything else is just wrong.
1. Mark and Lexi
Mark and Lexi are #goals. Little Grey was always meant to be with Mark Sloan. Through everything neither could deny their love for the other. There was no other couple we wanted to be together more with the exception of Der and Mer, but there was something about these two that had everyone begging for them to realize how meant to be they were. No deaths have ever hit us with such ferocity (sorry Der but it's true), especially since they had finally realized they should be together. If you had dry eyes when we saw Mark tell the video camera that he saw himself marrying Lexi, you have no heart. Mark and Lexi forever.
