Major: History
Hometown: Chattanooga, Tenn.
Class: Senior
Fraternity: Delta Tau Delta
Q: What do you hope to do when you graduate?
A: I hope to eventually go to law school and work on educational reform.
Q: What are you involved with (both within DTD and outside of greek life)? Any clubs?
A: I am really involved with the Student Alumni Associates. I was the events chair this last year, and it was a ton of work, but I loved it. I am also a part of Mortar Board Honor Society. In Delt, I was director of academic affairs last school year, and now I am honor board chair.
Q: What are your hobbies?
A: Reading about the Vols, running, playing volleyball and watching House of Cards on Netflix, of course.
Q: What does your chapter mean to you?
A: My chapter means so much... I wasn't in Delt freshman year, and it wasn't fun. I found a second home in Knoxville and friends I will have forever.
Q: What's the best part about being a member of a fraternity?
A: The best part of being a member of Delt (it sounds cliché) is just always having friends around. Can't go anywhere on campus without seeing a brother and having a friend to talk to.
Q: What's a fun fact about you?
A: I once spent a month in India before I came to UT. It was one of the best experiences of my life.
Q: Lately there has been nothing but bad publicity regarding Greek life, specifically fraternities… have you had a more positive experience?
A: I hate it when Greek life and especially fraternities are all assumed to be the same. Especially with the Oklahoma incident people now view us in a negative light and that couldn't be farther from the truth about what my fraternity is about. We are based on incredible values that I believe help us to become better people. Greek life in general can bring positive change, through philanthropies and just generally caring about what happens on campus. Members of my chapter and Greeks in general are some of the hardest working people and it's unfortunate when we are just seen as people who throw parties.
Q: What's your favorite aspect of the University of Tennessee?
A: I love Tennessee Football. Like a lot. My friends say it may be unhealthy.
Q: Who is your role model?
A: I have two role models- my dad and Aziz Ansari. My dad is the best and Aziz is just so funny. I strive to be as funny as him.
