The Truth Behind Greek Life
Monica Bradley

It has officially been two years since I joined Greek Life. Within those two years many news stories have come out showing Greek Life in a negative light. I am here to set out the truth about Greek Life and the impact that it has had on my life.

I am not one to say that all the stories coming out are not true. Some of those things may have actually happened but at the same time, that is not what Greek Life is as a whole. I joined Greek Life not knowing what I was getting myself into. One of the first things that I had to do when I joined the Alpha Sigma Tau Sorority is sign a "No Hazing" contract. What this contract is, is saying that I will not haze and if I see hazing happening I will report it.

The truth is that everybody that signs this paper in any Greek life capacity may not uphold it. But, there is 99% of people out there that are in Greek Life that say NO to hazing or anything surrounding the harm of other people. Recently I came across a video from one of my Panhellenic sisters titled "LiveYourOath".

There are a lot of videos out from this movement and I believe that everybody in Greek Life should get behind it.

When I joined Alpha Sigma Tau, I not only found a place of comfort in my own sorority but I also found a home and comfort within my Greek Life community. I always feel safe when I am around my Panhellenic sisters and the fraternity men on my campus. Over the past two years I have gone through a lot in my life, but I have always had my sisters and brothers in Greek Life to pick me up when I am down.

If you are thinking about Going Greek, do not stop the news stories from you rushing. Give it a try and see what it is really about, you won't regret it.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
