You always hear about how great your mom is, or how fun your aunt is, and how caring your grandma or how tough your dad is but what about grandpas? They don't get the credit they deserve.

Dear Grandpa,

I know you don't hear it enough but you are an extremely important person in my life. I have looked up to you since the day I was born and I will continue to for the rest of my life. You have made me a better person and have taught me to see the world from a different perspective than most people. You have made me believe that most people are good, despite what the news may say and that there is always something in the day to be grateful for. So, this is 7 reasons why every girl should have a grandpa as great as you:

1. Even on my worst day, you can still make me smile

And how could you ever have a bad day at the fair?

2. You always stick up for me ... no matter what!

Like when I had to get new shorts and I was upset that my stomach showed, you held your shirt up too.


3. You can find positivity in every situation!

Like when a fishing day contains no fish and we ended up just going for a long boat ride in the ocean instead.


4. You have overcome challenges that most people couldn't even imagine!

And words can not explain how truly thankful and proud of you I am for that!


5. You are by far the best movie date I have ever had!

Even through the bad movies


6. You have an extremely generous heart

Including coming to all my dance recitals, soccer games, volleyball tournaments, and horse shows.

Thank you for being my first friend and thank you for being you! I hope one day my kids will love you just as must as I do. Keep being the person who makes this world a happier place, and don't ever change! I love you, Grandpa!
