It is quite hard to put into words how much I love you guys. There is something so special about grandparents and their love, because it is different than a parents. Grandparents are a whole other level of unconditional love. I have to thank my grandparents for all the joy they bring into my life.
Thank you guys for always making me laugh, as laughing is one of my favorite pastimes. I swear on my life that no one tells better jokes than my grandpa. Along with making me laugh, I have to thank you guys for my great sense of humor. ;)
Thank you for showing me what true love is like. Having two sets of grandparents who have/had spent many decades together made me believe that love persists even when you get sick and old and look very different than you did 50 years ago. I have learned to never settle because my true love is out there somewhere. Hopefully when my true love and I are old we will be just as happy as my grandparents (and maybe we'll have a grandchild who writes a nice article about us).
When I am sad you are always there to make me feel better by letting me know that I am more than my mistakes and more than my grades. You are always proud of me no matter what I do. That kind of support gives a nice break from parents who can sometimes make school more stressful than it already is (sorry mother and father). My only life goal could be to eat the largest doughnut ever and my grandpa would still say he's "proud as a bear."
Thank you to my grandmother for always trying to bring me closer to God. I'm not exactly where I'd like to be in my faith right now but I'm glad to have someone to look up to when it comes to being a child of God. I know you probably don't think I appreciate you doing this, but I promise I do.
Lastly, I have to say how thankful I am for my other grandparents as well. I hope they know I'm writing about them even though they are no longer physically here. I also hope they know how much I love them because I feel as if I never got to tell them as much as I would've liked to.
To everyone reading this: appreciate your grandparents while they're still here (if they're still here). You never know what could happen tomorrow. To my grandparents: I hope I bring as much joy into your life as you bring into mine. :)
