Never did I see myself not getting ready on May 21, 2017 by the side of my best friend and not graduating on the same day as her, or any of my other close friends. However, sometimes things happens, life happens and here I am, ready to graduate in a new year, 2018, with a few things to say to my closest friends graduating in a few weeks.
To my best friend, Samantha: We may be the same major, but I will never amount to the student or woman that you are. I thank you for everything that you have taught me in the three and a half years of knowing you. You have made me a better person than I could have ever imagined and I can never thank you enough for that. You have become a part of my family and a person that I see myself never losing the connection I have with you. I love you and could not be more proud of the woman that you are today.
To my senior year roommate, Sarah: To say that you will be an amazing nurse is an understatement. You are an amazing student and I'd be lucky to have you taking care of me any day. Thank you for staying in on a Tuesday to watch the Mindy Project instead of going to $2 Tuesdays because I was having a bad day. Thank you for being there every time I cried over boys, school, family or just because the wine made me emotional. Most of all, thank you for being such an important part of what was supposed to be my senior year. I wouldn't have wanted to spend my time with anyone else.
To my guy friends and partial roommates, Ryan, Andre and Dimitri: Thank you for basically letting me fulfill my dream of living at the beach senior year by allowing me to sleep on your couch any, and every, night that I asked. You give the best advice and I couldn't ask for closer and better guy friends to spend my last three to four years beside. I'll miss you more than anything next year. Go be the successful scientists and lawyers that you can be and I can't! Ha, love you all and promise to visit.
To my boyfriend: This one's a little different. I may not have gone to school with you because I can't do a military push-up for the life of me, but I want you to know how proud I am of you for everything that you've accomplished and have ahead of you. I'll miss you the most when you go to BOLC, but I know that you're headed for great things. I love you and thanks for sticking by me in my "senior year" and the difficulties that came with it.
To say that I'll miss everyone that I started college with in 2013 is an understatement, but I am so unbelievably proud of your accomplishments and the things that you have ahead of you. I will miss the seconds that it takes to drive to you for spontaneous dinners or vent sessions, but that's what FaceTime is for. Love you all and I'll be at Fairfield next year when you're ready to visit.
