And who am I? That's one secret I'll never tell...

Gossip Girl vs. A: Who is the Worst Secret Enemy?

Disclaimer: I have not finished Gossip Girl yet but this idea popped into my head so if the end of the show adds to the decision of who would win in a battle and my analysis isn't correct, my deepest apologies.

Also, warning, potential Pretty Little Liars spoilers

The idea that there is some entity out there that can victimize you and you have literally nothing to do about it is fascinating. It does sometimes feel like that: no matter what you do there’s this larger force who will win, who knows more, who is omnipresent, and is always a step ahead. With both “Pretty Little Liars” and “Gossip Girl” having these themes, and having those moments on the show where everyone in a room’s phone collectively goes off and everyone stops to read the latest message, it made me wonder if the two mystery bullies were up against each other, who would win?

Obviously, A is violent, and goes to insane lengths to frame, and even hurt people so that gives her a leg up over Gossip Girl. But, Gossip Girl has earned the trust of the Upper East Siders, making her one of the crowd, while controlling it.

Let’s get more specific.

Gossip Girl seeks to destroy reputations by publishing everyone’s secrets, which proves highly effective in such a tight knit world, and A is able to accomplish a similar task in a community where literally everyone has committed some federal offense, whether it’s murder, kidnapping, or breaking and entering. So given the populations they deal with, A certainly takes the cake of revealing more detrimental information. Gossip Girl doesn’t need to go that far, not with the kind of betrayal that goes on in every single friendship. After all, it was Georgina that threatened to reveal the fact that Serena was in the hotel room with Pete Fairman when he died. So basically, Gossip Girl just has less work to do; anyone will blackmail anyone in that community. The Liars stand pretty firm in their friendships and in six seasons, never turn on each other.

Now for the obvious, A kidnapped the Liars and kept them in a Saw-like mansion with endless hallways and rooms and would harm them if they left, so yeah, A is more sinister. Gossip Girl just wants to know everything, not literally abduct high schoolers and torture them (Side note: as much as I love Pretty Little Liars, that story line really jumped the shark). The worst thing that Gossip Girl has done (thus far in the show) is prod friends to turn on each other.

Both entities have the cat and mouse draw where their victims are perpetually trying to figure out who they are. The difference is that the main A never changed and throughout the show, the Liars consistently outed all of A’s minions, but it took five seasons to figure out who the main culprit is. Gossip Girl (THOUGH I DON’T KNOW THE REVEAL YET SO NO ONE SAY ANYTHING) switched to Georgina in Season 5 and she was found out instantly, and for the most part, throughout the show the main characters have ideas to take down Gossip Girl, but not really expose her, until, I’m guessing the end.

In the end, A wins for being more sinister, in every single way. No one is scared of Gossip Girl, just intimidated, and Gossip Girl for the most part has not committed any felonies whereas A has murdered, kidnapped, framed, and quite frankly, not attended school in far too long to get away with that. So congrats, A, you win. And I look forward to seeing how much more sinister this new A can get, the A that is still harassing those poor girls well into their twenties.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
