Goodbye To The Friendship We Believe Is Only Found In Movies

"My dearest best friend,"

Well, I don't know if I've actually called you that in a while ... I usually call you my sister.

Our friendship has always been the friendship people wish they could find in their lives.
I don't mean that in a stuck-up, arrogant way. Our friendship has overall been a blessing. The way we connect, impact each other and have kept this friendship strong is sometimes what people believe is only in the movies.

We met over 12 years ago. I remember the day just like it was yesterday. I was a 6-year-old eager to watch "Finding Nemo" in my first drive-in movie. We lived in townhomes. I was outside helping my parents with packing the car while you and your mom came home from running errands. For whatever reason, we started to play tag outside. That's the moment we became joined at the hip.

We have grown up together.
I have seen you fall in love with music and anthropology. You've seen me fall in love with the filmmaking world. I've seen you at your highs and lows, you've seen me at mine. I will never forget the time we built a homemade slip-and-slide out of ranch, the time we watched our first horror film together or even the countless sleepovers. I would mention all of our crazy moments and shenanigans together, but that would take possibly months to read. Point being we've been through A LOT together, and the memories will never end.

You are incredible.
No one is like you. You're passionate, driven, hilarious, caring, loving, generous, fun, intelligent, weird (in the best way) and absolutely beautiful, inside and out. The way you value friends and other relationships is really a trait to be proud of. I've learned so much just by how much you put into everyone around you. Anyone that has you in their life, in any way, better be thankful. You aren't like other friends who come and go. You make it a point to build and hold the friendship.

I just want to say thank you.
Thank you for being my friend. Thank you for all of the endless things you've done for me. Thank you for being a huge part of my life. I can't thank you enough. I honestly know I can go on and on about our friendship, but what I want you to know is that I love you. Ive appreciated every moment, memory, and laugh. Our friendship is unstoppable and moving apart could never break that, no one could ever replace you.

I know I said goodbye in the title, but this isn't goodbye. It's cya later. This is not the last time we'll see each other, far from it. I can't wait to see you again soon.

I love you to infinity and beyond.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
