10 Good Habits To Have In College
PEXELS

I have only been in college for a little while but I know having good habits are important. When in college, you want to minimize the number of bad habits you learn and replace them with something that helps you be successful. Here are 10 habits you should try in college:

1. Have A Bed Time.

Sleep is an important part of college. You may have classes early in the morning and you would not want to miss the class that is costing you a lot of money.

2. Eat Meals At The Same Time Each Day.

If it is possible, try to eat at the same time each day. That way, you can work around your meal time and not get hungry while doing your homework.

3. Take Notes By Hand.

I understand that it is easier to take notes on a computer, but writing the notes makes them easier to remember. You can always type them later after you write them.

4. Get Assignments Done Early.

The sooner you get assignments are done, the more free time you have. With that tie you can write, read, hang out with friends, and whatever else you want to do.

5. Wake Up A Little Earlier.

When you wake up a few minutes before it is time for you to get ready, it gives you time to think about your day. You get start your day off with positives thoughts instead of just getting up to get ready.

6. Make Your Bed When You Get Up.

Coming back from classes with a nice and neat bed can be so satisfying. All you have to do is lay down and close your eyes.

7. Keep Your Desk Clean.

Having a clean desk makes it more appealing to start working. When you have a neat space you can do your homework without any distractions.

8. Go Outside.

A little bit of nature can make any day go better and chances are your campus is probably beautiful.

9. Drink Water.

Staying hydrated throughout the day makes you feel better.

10. Make Time For Your Friends.

I know college make you busy but make time for the people who matter.

Hopefully, these 10 habits will make college life easier for you.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
