If You Want To Be A Good Boyfriend, Do These 22 Things

It's really not that hard to text your girl back.

1. Just freaking text her back.

It's not that hard, boys. If you're busy, that's okay....a simple text in the morning telling us you're going to be studying or working all day will calm our anxieties when we don't hear back from you for hours.

2. Get along with her friends.

Nothing will ruin a relationship faster than conflict between the boyfriend and the best friends. They may not be your favorite people, but keep a positive relationship with them. And do not, under any circumstances, get mad at her for wanting to spend time with her friends without you.

3. When she asks for cuddles, cuddle her.

Especially on rainy Sunday's when she doesn't want to leave her bed. Share those little moments with her.

4. Post pictures of her on social media.

It doesn't have to be every day, or even every week, but an occasional Instagram candid or some cute Snapchats will make her heart burst.

5. LISTEN.

Sounds easy enough, right? Just listening to your girl will solve all of your problems.

6. Don't be afraid to show your emotional, sappy side.

You're allowed to have emotions. You're allowed to cry on your girlfriend's shoulder. You don't have to be the strong one all the time. I promise she will support you when you're feeling down.

7. Surprise her.

Make a trip up to see her on a Tuesday night when she'd least expect it or send her flowers just because. She will be a happy girl, I promise.

8. Be there for her in every aspect of her life.

Support her career goals. Be there for her when she is struggling with her mental illness. You're not just a romantic partner. You should be there for her whenever she needs it, in every way.

9. Learn what she likes in bed & master that.

Sex shouldn't be what your relationship is based upon, but if you're having sex - make sure you do all the things she likes that her ex swore he'd never do. You'll be glad you did.

10. Simply put - don't cheat on her.

This should be a given. And if she doesn't want you talking to another girl, trust her intentions. Us girls know.

11. When she's on her period, buy her ice cream and watch all the movies she wants.

It's the worst week of the month, and please don't make it worse by constantly saying, "Your mouth's not." Just buy us ice cream, watch The Notebook twelve times with us, and call us pretty. That's a major key.

12. Get on her family's good side.

Especially if your girl is super close to her family. You want them to like you.

13. Plan actual dates.

Don't just go over and ask her what she wants to do and settle on another trip to the mall followed by an ever-so-romantic dinner date at Chipotle. Plan a date, know exactly what you're gonna do, and let her know ahead of time to dress accordingly. She will love you for it, because odds are you'll be the first guy to ever plan a freaking date for her.

14. Be her best friend first.

And never stop being her best friend.

15. Give her TV shows a shot.

Don't complain about watching The Bachelor. Just give it a chance.

16. Do not, for the love of all things holy, talk about your ex.

She doesn't want to hear about her. At all. Ever.

17. Buy her things she likes.

From Victoria's Secret underwear that she'll happily model for you, to Sour Patch Kids, to a cute new sweater, and everything in between. You don't have to spend a bunch of money on her, just get her the stuff she likes and you're golden.

18. Hold her hand in public & show her off whenever possible.

Her last boyfriend wouldn't even claim her as his girlfriend on Facebook. It's not gonna be hard to do better than him.

19. Take her on all those late night adventures you see her posting about on Twitter.

Send her a "You up?" text at 1 am and don't follow that by asking for sex. Pick her up and take her out to Steak 'n Shake, McDonald's, or just on a long drive filled with her favorite playlist.

20. No matter how long you've been together, still flirt with her daily like you're trying to win her over.

Don't ever get to invested in your relationship you stop trying to win your girl over.

21. Don't let your religious or political differences ruin your relationship.

It's okay to have your differences and to talk about them, but don't let them tear you apart.

22. Become a better person alongside her.

This is key to every relationship. Grow together.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
