Top 10 'Golden Girls' Episodes

Top 10 'Golden Girls' Episodes

The Golden Girls was on the biggest television shows in the late 80s and early 90s. The series featured four women who were in their ‘golden’ years living and sharing a house together in Miami. The show featured various subjects form interracial marriage to HIV/AIDS to Alzheimer’s Disease. I’ve watched The Golden Girls pretty much every day for the past 14 years or so. The jokes never get old and I enjoy each episode just as much as I did the first time I saw it.

More than 30 years later the world continues to enjoy these awesome ladies.

Here are my top 10 favorite:


1. Mixed Blessings

Dorothy's son comes to town and let's his mother know that's he's engaged. But he has to break it to his mother that his fiance is also black and twice his age.


2. A visit from Little Sven

Rose's cousin Sven comes to visit before going to meet his arranged bride in Minnesota. But he ends up falling for Blanche after she uses him to make the guy she's dating jealous.


3. Yes, We Have No Havanas

Sofia and Blanche are both dating the same man which causes tension in the house. He ends up dying and they find out that there were others.


4. It's a Miserable Life

The girls are fighting their neighbor to not have a tree cut down on her property. They go tit for tat with each other in court and Rose tells her to drop dead. Which she does.

5. The Housekeeper

The girls hire a housekeeper and when they fire her believe that she's cursed them.


7. Old Friends

Sophia becomes friends with an elderly gentleman with Alzheimer's. Blanche also accidentally gives away Rose's bear Fernando to one her Sunshine Cadets. The little girl then holds the bear hostage and Rose has to fight to get him back.


8. 72 Hours

Years ago Rose had a blood transfusion after surgery. The hospital sends her a letter that the blood may have been contained HIV infected blood. She then spends the next 72 hours

9. Wham, Bam Thank You Mammy

After the death of Blanche's father, her nanny contacts her looking for a music box. Blanche is less than thrilled to see her because she believes her nanny deserted her.

10. The Case of the Libertine Belle

Blanche invites the girls to a murder mystery weekend. Little does Blanche know that she's the suspected murder.
