Everyone has had one of those moments. Your favorite band is coming to town and no one can go with you. You don’t want to skip the concert entirely, but at the same time, it doesn’t seem cool to go to a concert by yourself. If you anything like me, you have even Google searched if it is OK to go to a concert alone. Well, I’m here to tell you that it’s more than OK. It could very well be one of the best experiences of your life.

I've skipped many a concert due to the fear of going alone. That was until a few weeks ago. James Bay was coming to town and there was no way I was going to miss it! I bought my ticket and ended up standing in the general admission section with two thousand other enthusiastic James Bay fans. At first, I was totally freaked out, I was completely surrounded by people I did not know. But, it ended up being one of the best concerts I have ever been to.

Here’s why my solo concert experience was amazing and yours can be too!

1. You can dance like nobody’s watching because really nobody’s watching!

No need to worry about your friends posting videos of your super cool dance moves to Snapchat because they won't be there!

2. You have the chance to meet some other really cool fans, just like yourself.

Its a general rule that if someone likes the same music as you, they are a pretty awesome person. So feel free to branch out and talk to the other music lovers that are also pushing their way to the stage. Who knows? You could meet your best friend.

3. You can just focus on the music

Deciding on who to bring to a concert could make or break the experience for you. It can completely ruin the night if they don’t like the band or are always asking you what the song they are playing is called. This way all you have to do listen and enjoy.

4. It is an extremely empowering experience

Accomplishing anything you may have been afraid to do before just makes you feel like the boss that you are. I know I walked out of that venue feeling like I could take on the world!

So it's settled. It is totally OK to go to a concert by yourself! Still, an important thing to remember when you go anywhere by yourself is how to stay safe!

1. Make sure someone always knows where you are just in case— That way someone knows where to go if they don't hear from you.

2. Be smart about what you share with the people you meet—Even though meeting other fans is extremely cool, there is no reason to tell them all that no one is there with you and you live an hour away.

3. Don’t laugh off the safety tips you learned in your high school health class— So don’t accept free drinks from people.

4. Make sure your phone is charged — you never want to be in a situation where you can’t call anyone for help.

5. Finally, trust your gut!—If a situation feels unsafe to you, then leave.

It is as simple as that! Whenever you're able to go to a concert it can be an amazing experience, so don’t let going there alone get in the way of being yourself and having a great time.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
